The annual conference is the flagship event of the SCWC. It features two keynote presentations from prolific and professional authors and other publishing experts; approximately 20 workshops on a variety of writing topics; awards ceremonies for the Joanne Sloan National Award for the Encouragement of Writers and the SCWC Writing Awards; question & answer panels; meetings with agents, publishers, and writing coaches; three meals; book room for authors to display and sell their books; lots of opportunities for fellowship with other Christian writers; and so much more!

The Southern Christian Writers Conference was founded in 1991 to encourage and equip writers of faith, and it continues to build upon that mission statement with the annual conference, regional workshops, an annual writing retreat, its Notable Book Awards, monthly writing challenges, book publishing, and more.

Registration for the 2026 SCWC opens on March 15, and the price is affordable (the lowest amongst such conferences in the nation).
